Leave Policy

At Makos Infotech, we value the well-being and work-life balance of our employees. To ensure a conducive and supportive work environment, we have established the following leave policy

  • National Holidays: Makos Infotech observes 3 national holidays, encompassing all statutory holidays.
  • Privilege Leave: Employees are entitled to 21 days of privilege leave, providing them with the opportunity to spend quality time with their loved ones, pursue personal hobbies, or simply unwind and rejuvenate.
  • Sick Leave:we prioritize the health and well-being of our team members. Employees are granted 9 days of sick leave, which can be extended based on their health condition.
  • Maternity Leave: In our commitment to supporting our women employees during pregnancy, we offer 26 weeks of maternity leave. This exceeds the standard maternity leave entitlement, and women are further entitled to an additional 6 weeks of maternity leave.
  • Paternity Leave: We recognize the importance of fatherhood and encourage our male employees to actively participate during the birth or adoption of their child. As such, we provide 7 working days of paternity leave.
  • Casual Leave: To accommodate personal needs and unforeseen circumstances, employees are granted 7 days of casual leave, separate from sick leave and privilege leave.

Attendance and Time Office Policy

At Makos Infotech Pvt Ltd, we maintain a strong commitment to punctuality and attendance in the workplace. Our attendance policy sets clear expectations for our employees, ensuring a productive and efficient work environment. The following guidelines outline our policy:

  • Attendance Expectations: All employees are expected to be present for work, on time, every day they are scheduled. Punctuality is crucial in maintaining smooth operations and meeting our business goals.
  • Discouragement of Absenteeism, Tardiness, and Presenteeism: We do not tolerate absenteeism (unexcused absences), tardiness (late arrival), or presenteeism (physically present but not actively engaged). We expect our employees to adhere to their scheduled working hours and fulfill their responsibilities accordingly.
  • Good Attendance Recognition: We appreciate employees who demonstrate good attendance by having less than four incidents of absenteeism or tardiness in a year. As a reward, these employees will receive an additional paid day off in the following year as a recognition of their commitment to punctuality and attendance.
  • Employee Health and Well-being: At Makos Infotech, we prioritize the mental and physical health of our employees. If an employee is absent from work, we address the reason for their absence and provide necessary support. This may include access to mental health professionals or resources to ensure their well-being.

Exit/separation Policy

At Makos Infotech, we recognize that employees may undergo separation from the organization due to various circumstances. Our Separation Policy is designed to facilitate a smooth and orderly transition for both the departing employee and the company. We have defined set procedures to handle all aspects of employee resignation, termination, retirement, and unfortunate events such as employee death. The following are the different types of exits and their corresponding procedures:

  • Employee Initiated Exit: When an employee voluntarily decides to separate from the organization, it is expected that they complete all exit-related formalities, including serving the designated notice period as specified in company policy.
  • Employer Initiated (Asked to Go or Termination): The employee will be expected to leave the organization with immediate effect, without serving a notice period. The exit process will be conducted in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
  • Retirement: In situations where an employee reaches the retirement age, a relieving letter will be issued, and a Full & Final settlement will be carried out according to the policies and guidelines applicable at the time of retirement.
  • Employee Death: In the unfortunate event of an employee's death, the date of death will be considered as the last date of employment. The salary due to the deceased employee for the last month will be transferred to their designated account as specified on the death certificate.
  • Exit Interview: As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, an exit interview may be conducted with employees who are leaving the organization voluntarily. This confidential process allows departing employees to share their feedback, experiences, and suggestions, which in turn helps us identify areas for enhancement within our organization.
  • Notice period: If the employee resigns, they are required to serve the notice period as per the details mentioned in the appointment letter.

Exit formality applies to all the employees on the payroll of Makos Infotech. The employee who wishes to separate from the organization is expected to serve a notice period as per the appointment letter.

Employee’s Terms and Conditions

General Terms

During the course of your employment with the Company, you will work exclusively for, and in the interest of, the Company and maintain confidentiality as the business of the Company and its Customers, as required by the Company

  • You are not entitled to be employed with another employer or be interested directly or indirectly in any other business or vocation.
  • You are not entitled to be employed with another employer or be interested directly or indirectly in any other business or vocation.
  • At any time in the future for the Company’s requirement and necessity, the Company shall have the right to transfer you, but not on your obligation, at place within Chennai or at any place in Tamil Nadu to continue your service to the Company.
  • All intellectual property rights and goodwill generated, as a result of your employment with the Company, shall be for the benefit of and belong to the Company. You hereby unconditionally agree to assign all intellectual property rights of whatever nature that may arise under or in connection with the services you provide whilst in employment with Company.

Employee Conduct

  • The Company takes workplace conduct and behaviour very seriously, which is fully articulated within the Company’s Code of Conduct. Specifically, the Company strives to be the best of our customers and clients, while also facilitating a strong culture of compliance, governance, and ethical conduct.
  • The Company also expects all of its workplaces to be inclusive environments where employees treat each other with mutual respect, and always operate in the best interests of our clients and shareholders.
  • As a Company employee, you are expected to align your personal conduct to these objectives and comply with all Company’s policies and standards, including the Code of Conduct.

Termination

  • The Company reserves the right to terminate your employment immediately, at any time, in case you are unable to provide all suitable documentation required as a part of the joining process on the date of your joining the services of the Company.
  • It is understood that this employment is being offered to you on the basis of the particulars submitted by you to the Company. However, if at any time, it should emerge that the particulars provided by you are false/incorrect or if any material or relevant information has been suppressed or concealed, this Offer will be considered ineffective and would be liable to be terminated by the Company.
  • Your employment may be terminated by either you, or the Company. So, to terminate, either party shall be required to give the other, 30 days calendar days written notice in advance of termination, or pay to the other the Monthly or prorated payments in lieu of such notice period.
  • Though upon termination of employment by you, you accept that the Company at its discretion, can require you to continue in service during the period of notice and need not necessarily accept monthly payments in lieu of notice from you.
  • It is clarified that upon a termination of employment by you, and you are not required by the Company to continue in service, the Company is not obliged to make any monthly payments to you in lieu.
  • The Company the right to terminate your employment immediately, at any time without making any payments to you in lieu of notice, in case:
    • you are guilty of dishonestly, or serious or persistent misconduct, temporary/long absence from work without previous approval, absence from work citing wrong/false reasons or, you neglect or refuse to attend to your duties or fail to perform any of your obligations, or fail to observe the Company’s business, disciplinary and ethical code, guidelines and policies.
    • you absent yourself from the services of the Company without prior approval or overstay sanctioned leave by the Company without prior intimation and approval, as you will be deemed to have abandoned service voluntarily
    • if the outcome of background verification is found unsatisfactory.
  • Upon termination of this employment, you shall immediately return all the Company’s property in your possession to the Company. You will be relieved from services only after a satisfactory hand-over of responsibilities, settlement of outstanding dues, and service of the notice period, and subject to any specification conditions mandated by relevant circumstances at the time.

Employee Conduct

  • The Company also expects all of its workplaces to be inclusive environments where employees treat each other with mutual respect and always operate in the best interests of our clients and shareholders.
  • The Company promotes various channels through which concerns can be escalated, including confidentiality, and fully expects employees to utilise these escalation channels in a timely manner without fear of retaliation.
  • As a Company employee, you are expected to align your personal conduct to these objectives and comply with all Company’s policies and standards, including the Code of Conduct. You acknowledge that if you breach or fail to comply with any the Company policy or standard, there may be serious consequences including being subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Consent for purpose of Collection

Without prejudice to the foregoing, you agree that any personal data provided by you or on your behalf to the Company from time to time prior to or in course of your employment with the Company (if employment is subsequently offered to you) as well as all other personal data related to you will be used/disclosed by the Company for legitimate purposes:

  • To comply with any obligation imposed under any contract, law and/or regulation.
  • Monitoring your financial transactions in all or any accounts held with the Company.
  • Retention/Preservation of your employment records with the Company with the Company for an indefinite period.
  • Sharing of all or any of your details with any person, if any event or situation warrants such disclosure.

Governing Law:

Your employment (including these terms) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws in India.

Statutory Benefits:

The statutory benefits available to eligible employees in accordance with the provisions laid down under the Employees’ Compensation Act, the Maternity Benefits Act, Employees’ State Insurance Act and/or any statutory modification or re-enactment thereof for the time being in force would be applicable basis the specific criteria laid down under respective Acts from time to time.
